The Contradictions

Listen to my heart rate,
it fades
And there's no way to the garden,
horray for decay
And you eat your children for insight,
knowledge you find cheap
The hidden beast emerges

You come across a young one,
and pick her feathers clean
She was ripe for the picking,
devouring the dream
Since it's not the first time,
burn the virgin mind
Leave it lying helpless on the street

Psychic funnels engulf me,
burn memories in my mind
I try to change the channels,
but they withstand the test of time
There's a con in every contradiction,
in every circle of friends
I will lead my people to the promised land

When I hold my breath,
I see you dance before my eyes
Lay down my head to rest,
a hunger hard to satisfy
I was brought down by my knees
Loneliness is alone without me
And when put to the test
My emptiness is best undressed
